The ever-present sphere in the background, with six feathers
radiating outwards like spokes in a wheel. They meet in the centre, reminding
me of the Thoth’s Six of Swords – where the sword tips meet, piercing a rose. I seem to remember that’s about focusing
different ideas or points of view, coming to a harmonious (associated with the
number 6) intellectual (Swords) understanding.

This fits in with the idea of transitions (a favourite Six
of Swords keyword in many decks), coming to a new understanding. Margarete
Petersen’s deck isn’t explicitly linked to astrology, as far as I know, but I
can see the Mercury in Aquarius connection to the Six of Swords here…finding
our way out of difficulties by coming up with new ways of thinking about the
problem, and the solution coming out of a different approach – perhaps even a
revolutionary or unorthodox one.
I’m also reminded of
a spider’s web, and the idea of networks and connections – how we’re all part
of the system, the universe. The World
Wide Web too… all very Mercurical, very Aquarian.
Ideas converging,
Dancing through the mind’s fine web -
Time of transition.
