Margarete Petersen’s Six of Cups is another glorious
seascape (in my eyes). Waves that lift you up and carry you in the warm of the
sun… or as she says, “a wave, pleasure, harmony, and love”. It brings back
childhood memories literally (playing in the sea) as well as conjuring up that
sense of feeling safe and secure as a child.
One of the questions she poses in the LWB book asks about the role of
prayers and sayings, and how they might still work now – so if there’s any
darkness at all associated with this card, this might be it – working out what
no longer works and letting the wave carry it away. So yes, a card of healing
or restoration, as well as reconnecting with innocent pleasures.
